| June 11, 1972 - The #1 album in the USA was "Exile on Main Street" by the Rolling Stones... The #1 single was "The Candyman" by Sammy Davis Jr ... Elvis Presley played his first concerts at Madison Square Garden (attended by John Lennon and Bob Dylan )... Travis Michael Tooke was born.
Travis grew up in the Tampa, FL area.
While attending the Univ. of Florida in Gainesville , he started making music with a couple of childhood friends, named the band For Squirrels, and made a record for Sony Records in 1995, "Example." That CD spawned the big radio hit "Mighty KC." For Squirrels regrouped (with Travis on guitar and vocals) under the name Subrosa, and made one CD for Epic Records in 1997, "Never Bet the Devil Your Head."
Travis was last seen on the road with Subrosa, supporting CREED during their 1999-2000 national tour. Travis never stopped writing songs, and finally ended an 8-year hiatus by releasing his first solo CD, "Artichoke" in December 2007.
He still rocks, and plays a mean game of ultimate frisbee. |
